Bird Photography Weekly #27

Rufous-vented Chachalaca, Ortalis ruficauda

For this week's BPW, I am pulling more images from my recent trip to Trinidad & Tobago. The Rufous-vented Chachalacas were pretty common at the Blue Waters Inn, where we stayed while in Tobago.
On Tobago, the locals know it at the "Cocrico" and in fact I had one shop assistant in an airport gift shop almost in tears when I identified the national bird as a chachalaca. She'd never heard it called that before.
