Tree Swallow - Tachycineta bicolorFor me, yet another harbinger of Spring is when the Tree Swallows start to return. I started noticing my first Tree Swallows a few weekends back. Without a doubt, some of the best pics I will ever get of a swallow, as these dynamic fliers will never be caught by my lens when they are in flight. This seemed to be a favored perch next to the salt pans on Plum Island, where you were also able to see them hunting for food and setting up house in the many nest boxes that are put up for them there.
